Role : Producer / Sound Designer

Status: Prototype

(Bass)teroids is a rhythm shooter where the key to destroying enemies is shooting on the bass of the song. If you shoot off bass the enemies split into more. The goal of this game is that the player can insert any song they own and that will change the visualizer, which acts as an obstacle.

About

(Bass)teroids is a dynamic rhythm-based sidescrolling shooter game. Shoot on the bass to destroy incoming obstacles and get a high score - but watch out! The visualizer is an obstacle that adjusts to the music. The more intense the beat is, the farther the visualizer will reach, and the more enemies will spawn. Use premade tracks, or put in your favorite music to determine how hard the level becomes!

My Contribution

For this project, my position was both sound designer and producer. I helped lead and organize design meetings to help the team narrow down our concept. I created several music samples until the team settled on one that worked with the game, then fleshed the music out into one complete track in Garageband. I found and edited sound effects. I made sure team members felt supported and kept in communication with each other.
